Your Church’s Response to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Outbreak
The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is continuing to spread. The risk of transmission increases where groups of people gather, and unfortunately, church is no exception. The elderly and those with a compromised immune system appear to suffer the most when it comes to contracting this virus, and we as a church want to be calm, vigilant, and prayerful as we go through this time of uncertainty.
In consultation with church members who have a medical background, we have decided to cancel the following for the month of March:
1) Communion
2) Lunches after Sunday services
3) Peas Beside a Railroad
4) Sunday afternoon gatherings with the exception of leaders meetings
5) Children’s mini church (Children’s church on Sunday mornings)
——————————————–
If the following applies to you, we would strongly urge you to stay home even if you do not have symptoms such as fever, sore throat, and fatigue:
1) If you use public transportation to get to church
2) If you are elderly
3) If you have children
——————————————–
We would like to encourage you to be mindful of the following with regard to participation in Sunday services and PAWS:
1) If you are experiencing symptoms such as fever, sore throat, or fatigue, please stay home.
2) If you have a cough, please use a face mask.
3) When you come to church, please wash your hands and use hand sanitizers as appropriate.
Face masks and and sanitizing alcohol continue to be in short supply and are difficult to procure.
We are running low on hand sanitizers at church, so if you carry your own hand sanitizer, please use that first.
