1. The basis of our joy that makes us want to shout (1,5)
1 A psalm. For giving thanks.
Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.
For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
2. The relationship between us and the Lord (3)
Know that the LORD is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his ;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
3. Worship and service (2,4)
2 Worship the LORD with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
Summary
Worship is central to our lives. Worship is not just being still before the Lord and listening to him. It is also a time to express ourselves before the Lord and sometimes that takes the form of shouting. We shout to express our anguish in times of trouble, but shouting is really about being filled with joy at the knowledge that “the LORD is good and his love endures forever.” Let’s experience the goodness of the LORD and shout for joy.
